Our Team

Creation Exploration Ministry is a team of friends and family, with a shared vision for the future of our children, our community, our world.

Each new season brings a change in those who are working together, exploring together, encouraging ourselves and others to get outside!

Past Team Members

I have been blessed to work with the following individuals (and in many cases, their families) along the way.  Their season with Creation Exploration has passed, but it wouldn't be right not to mention them here.  Their role making Creation Exploration what it is today, was essential.  What has happened so far couldn't have happened without them.

Helen Hunt - Co-Founder

Initially, an unwilling participant in nature study, homeschool graduate and daughter of Raylene M. Hunt, Helen has worked with Creation Exploration since it's beginning in 2010.  She has assisted facilitators during programs and group presentations, helped design programs, and served as a sounding board for ideas,

Vicki Merrill & Family - Nature Connection Facilitator

Vicki is the homeschooling mom of many years!  She has graduated two children from public school, three from homeschooling and still has four more to go.  Her children have been involved with Creation Exploration since the beginning when they shared an exploration involving recently hatched snapping turtles with the founder and her family.  Today, the youngest four work to help field test curriculum and online classes, and their always happy to share about their discoveries, adventures, and an occasional misadventure along the way.

Connie Overlock, long time friend and co-conspirator in many nature misadventures, was a bit part of helping get Creation Exploration off the ground in the early days.  She provided many of our early photos, helped identify plants and critters during explorations.  She now leads the HOME Hikes for Homeschoolers of Maine, still working to continue to connect homeschooling families with nature.  At the same time, she continues to encourage and support our efforts here at Creation Exploration.

KelLee Gray was our driver on all of our offsite adventures during the season when Creation Exploration was on the road.  Whether it was Sunday River in Bethel or Fort Williams in Cape Elizabeth, KelLee was always up for a road trip that would help us minister to those who couldn't come to us!  We made some great memories along the way!

Sherry Stanley was an amazing encourager and field trip leader during the time she and her daughter were part of Pond Explorers, a homeschool group that focused on exploring the pond and learning about its inhabitants.  She inspired us to write an essay to enter a contest to attempt to win a bus to take Creation Exploration on the road.  We didn't win, but we had a lot of fun collaborating with all the families in the essay writing contest!
